STRATA VARIOUS

The strata method leads to many design possibilities.  The squares for the table topper are made first, leaving triangles that can be combined to make two ample placemats and four hot pads.  Experiment with the left-over triangles to make various settings for the placemats or fashion a table runner.  Set your imagination free!

ALL SORTS OF FUN

A whimsical quilt based on the licorice candy known as “All-Sorts”, this is a fun and easy lap-sized quilt to make. It uses the methods of strip piecing, sashing, and machine applique. The quilting best suited to this project is machine quilting. A sweet surprise for children and adults alike.

CULLODEN COTTAGE

This ultra-cozy quilt was inspired by a trip to Culloden, Scotland.  The tiny mullioned windows and the green tinge of the walls evoke images of ancient moss-covered dwellings.  Exaggerated blossoms are representative of the spectacular flowers found in this cool, damp climate.

FABULOUS FELTED BAG

This wonderful bag is roomy and eye-catching.  Felting is easily accomplished using a felting machine or by hand.  The incredible variety of yarns, netting, beads, buttons, wool, roving, trims and quilting threads combine to make this easy bag truly fabulous.

FIELD OF FLOWERS

These wall hangings are beautiful accompaniments to any room.  The large one is particularly lovely hanging over a bed, a long chest of drawers or a sofa.  If you love puzzles, this is a great pattern for you.  It’s easy, but intricate.  Make it with yo-yos placed over a green background, or with pieced floral prints.  You’ll be reminded of a field of flowers every time you see it.

FOLDED CHRISTMAS STAR

If you are already familiar with my Folded Circle Centrepiece, you will love this one! It is a little more challenging, but is as satisfying and enjoyable to make as the original circle centrepiece. Variations are possible depending on how you arrange your light and dark prints. Make enough to experiment!

FOLDED CIRCLE CENTREPIECE

Enjoying the distinction of being the most popular pattern to date, this project looks quilted, but is made of many layers of fabric. The layers make it a very good choice for table hot pads and centres. Fabric choices may be organized or scrappy. The total amount of folded fabric needed is 38″ or 1 metre.

FOLDED KALEIDOSQUARE

It’s a new twist on my folded triangle creations! This makes a beautiful centerpiece, or a wonderful wall hanging. From the detailed instructions, you will be able to quilt kaleidoscope-type motifs in the centre, followed by close quilting around the squares with a ¼” foot. This pattern can be used very nicely with bold or more muted fabrics, though small-scale prints are best. Try as many colour combinations as your imagination allows!
